"Ten for the Next Ten” is an interesting post recently published on New York Times, Op-Ed Guest Columnist. The post is written by Bono,yes Bono, the famous Irish Rock Star, who sings for U2 band.

The post is seeking 10 ideas that according to the author might make the next 10 years more interesting, healthy or civil.

It is fabulous in my mind to be a Rock Star and being that opinionative. Bono has received a number of awards for his music and activism, including the Légion d'Honneur from the French government in 2003 and Time Magazine's Person of the Year for 2005 (along with Bill and Melinda Gates). In 2007 he was awarded an honorary British knighthood and in 2008 he was given the Nobel "Man of Peace" prize at the Ninth Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. (NY Times/Bono Biography)

Turquoise for 2010.

Color authority, Pantone, has proclaimed that turquoise will be THE color in 2010.well, I guess I like it, it looks fresh and happy and it also goes with gold, silver, black and navy.

2009 in Review.

Wish everyone a very happy new year.

Hope 2010 really rocks for all the people around the world.

I gonna dedicate the first post of the 2010 to a review note regarding my life in the year 2009. For me in general 2009 can be considered as a year of success, excitement, Ifs and personal development.

A YEAR OF SUCCESS; I got my Master degree in the field of quality and operations management, I got accepted to PhD of business administration, I became an aunt (a little cute girl entered our family), I was able to handle a distance relationship with my amazing boyfriend perfectly, I made a nice trip to Hamburg and also had an amazing time in Sweden, I learned some Swedish and German, I learned sewing a little bit and I finally started blogging.

A YEAR OF EXCITEMENT; I have been excited for all the points mentioned above, which made most of my time being full of passion to see what will happen next , what will happen next. It was a year full of passion and passed so quickly.

A YEAR OF Ifs SITUATIONS; Every act or decision became tremendously connected to the other act. For example; “If I got the Diploma on that specific date → I could have been able to apply for the other position on time → I could spend summer at home → I could apply for labla…→ I could did this and that”. And if any single of them failed, the whole thing was missed, so I spent at least half of the year waiting to see what my “Ifs” will bring. Believe me, I have broken the record of having “Ifs” situations in 2009.

A YEAR OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT; Yeah, it really was a year of different experiences and developments. I enhanced my level of oneness and had been able to know how to communicate with people from different cultures and different backgrounds, I learned to differentiate true friends from fake ones (although I got suffered a lot by people who were pretending to be my friends and how they left my back alone and stopped talking with me without any logic was sad), I had a lot of sad lonely moments, which provided me with a better understanding of life and finally I learned how nice it could be to give love and get love.

Looking forward to 2010 :),

My 27th Birthday

Can't believe it that I have finished 27!!! so fast :D...I still think like I am 18! It is a shame! ;)

Well, anyway I had a very niceeeeeeeee bday beside my family.That was amazing to be home again for my bday after two years of being abroad for studying. Loved it.

How do you see yourself?

Are you a kitty who sees herself as a lion, or are you a lion who sees himself as a kitty?

I guess, sometimes how we see ourselves depends on the mirrors that we are looking into. Do you remember those mirrors in fun houses that make some distorted reflections? Those that make us look tall and skinny like a string or fat and short like a ball! It all depended on the mirror that you’re looked into.

I was reading an interesting article, which was about psycological issues, when suddenly I got paralyzed by reading this sentence that:

”Some of the most important mirrors in our lives aren't mirrors at all. They are other people”.

It got me in deep thinking. That is so truely correct, others could give us a glimpse of ourselves. One of this mirroring that happened to me a lot is through the things people tell me like: ”I like your hair today”, ”Oh... you are wearing...that?” .or imagine yourself presenting something in front of a group of people, some people are sleeping, some are nodding and make eye contacts, some are taking notes and so on... That is interesting, the same as fun mirrors that give us distorted reflections so can other people.

When I thought more and more I realized that we have ”person mirrors” everwhere in our lives and that would be necessary to examine them carefully in order to make the life more ground and smooth for ourselves maybe. When we are at work for example, I guess organizations mirror people with compensation, recognition, performance reviews and these kinds of things. And it is important that your boss mirror you accurately, this is important to know because we tend to hold the boss's opinion in pretty high regard because of the organizational authority that she or he holds over us. or among our family members and friends, I do not think that our partner, kids, or parents seeing all sides of us.They just mirror back to us the parts that they know. It is really great to have friends to reflect to us accurately for better or for worse, but ACCURATELY! It is so good to get mirrors by friends and family and get the ”hard truth”.

Do your friends tell you "the hard truths"? If not I think it is better to find someone who mirrors them for you. Conversely, we don't need friends who are just beating us up and taking from us all the time. If this is the kind of mirroring you get from friends, it's time for firm boundaries. We all need mirrors in our lives. Just make sure that they are showing you the real you.
